Liberia Mission Trip

If you're reading this, I'm glad. And thank you for taking the time to.

God has been working like crazy in Colby and I's heart.
We were presented with the opportunity to travel with Orphan Relief and Rescue this September to their base in Liberia, Africa. Of course, we said yes.
We will be working with child development and overall physical and spiritual healing for the kids in the organization. These kids have been abandoned, beaten, sexually abused and overall neglected. Thanks to Tim and Rebecca Pratt, they were saved from that life. We hope, with your help, that we can go and share the love that is in our hearts.

My friend Bri Lomas, parents, run this foundation and were gracious enough to extend the offer. Tim and Rebecca Pratt are true hero's. True disciples and soldiers of God.

After lots of spiritual searching and praying, we have decided to put all efforts into getting us there, and possibly, God willing, work there.

These next three months are going to be devoted to preparing our hearts and raising enough financials for this organization and trip.

I set up a Go Fund Me account and would absolutely love if you could donate, even the smallest amount. What I've learned about donations is that, your heart should be in it. And to never ever beg. So we are putting this in Gods hands and if this trip is meant to be, the finances will be there.

Below i have linked our Go Fund Me account and Orphan Relief and Rescues page.
Go check them out and see the amazing work they are doing in kids lives.

All donations to our Go Fund Me account go straight to our trip and the organization.

Go Fund Me

If you do decide to give, we want to thank you personally from the bottom of our hearts! You are saving lives. Even you, can be a hero.

"And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Spartan Race for Cystic Fibrosis

On June 20th, my best friend Alexi and myself will be running a Spartan race at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in honor of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

We lost a loving friend and mother, Debbie Ashmore in 2010 to this disease. Any and all donations go directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

We will be racing in her memory, a long with everyone who has fought and lost and still fights today.

The Spartan Race is the coolest thing, EVER, for athletes. The one at the Cowboys Stadium will be 3 + miles of bleachers, hallways and obstacles. Most Spartan races are outdoors and require you to climb walls, crawl through mud under barbed wire, jump over fire, ect.

In October there is a Spartan Beast race in Austin that is 12 + miles of rugged terrain.
Im trying to sike myself up for it!

Please click the Spartan Donation Page link at the top to directly donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on my Spartan page. Any donation helps toward the cause. If you want to join our team and run the race with us, leave a comment and ill give you my contact info!

Clink the link at the bottom of the page to go directly to the Cystic Fibrosis website.

Help us in fighting the good fight!

I fought the good fight, i finished the race, i kept the faith.

Honeymoon//Excellence Resort, Riviera Cancun

The morning after the wedding was a struggle.
6am, rise and shine and I'm eating our wedding cake in the kitchen of our venue. YOLO.

We hustled out of Henderson, back to Tyler so we could catch our flight.
At 8am, we are standing in our kitchen at our home eating fajitas. Safe to say, we were famished, but so ready to get to Cancun.

We stayed at the Excellence Resorts Riviera Cancun, and let me tell you, it was Excellent.

The airport in Cancun, was nice. We went into it thinking it was going to be super sketchy. The only sketch part was once we were outside the airport, trying to find our private shuttle. Luckily our little man was right up front, waiting for "The Robertsons"

This is the front of the hotel.
We were instantly greeted with cold towels and champagne.

The grounds of the resort, were beautiful. The architecture was so on point, it made us feel like we were truly in a Mexican Resort. There were Mayan statues everywhere, and it just shouted history at us. That part, i loved.

This tub, was everything.

Everyday, if we drank a bottle of liquor they would replace the whole bottle, free.
We never got around to opening any of them.
The bars were too nice and made the most amazing martinis i had ever had!

If you read my wedding blog, you will know that nose bleeds are a bit of a problem for me. As soon as we get to the resort, i had another one. With the help of my selfie stick, i captured this awesome picture. Through sickness and health, right?

This was our view every single day. Once you step out on the back patio, the lazy river is just steps away. Colby broke the hammock.

Our first night, was beautiful.

There were 8 restaurants to choose from at all times. For breakfast we always ate at The Barcelona. The setup was a buffet. But a gourmet buffet. It was AMAZING. Any food you could ever want, they had it cooked, and it was delicious.

We were a little anxious about how the food was going to taste since its an all inclusive resort. We expected it to taste bland and more like cafeteria style food. Boy, were we wrong. Everything was immaculate.

These guys walked the beach all day. Wearing jewelry, scarves, clothes, from head to toe.
Colby bought some cigars that turned out to be fake.
He tried to sell us drugs. We got a kick out of that.
I told Colby he tried selling us marijuana because he looks like a hipster with his beard.

As you can see, the resort is beautiful.

This courtyard was placed right outside our little room.

The Lobster House.

Spice Restaurant.

All you can eat sushi, we ordered double.

The cutest coffee shop was our first stop every morning.

We got a couples massage and the ladies braided my hair. It was so relaxing!

Colby trying out his cigar and realizing its a fake Cuban.

The Lobster House is where we ate majority of our lunches and on the last night, we ate dinner.

Checking out was bitter sweet. We were ready to get home but could have stayed there forever.

All in all, this resort is everything. If you want to relax, there is everything provided to help you relax. If you want to do excursions, those are offered as well. We didn't do any, as all we wanted was to relax and spend quality time together without one single plan. As our whole life in the States revolves around planning.

Every night we ordered room service, even after dinner. It was 24-7. What else?
Colby got a beef tenderloin and cheesecake, and i got pizza.
I loved calling room service because i got the hear the sweet lady call me Mrs. Robertson.
The customer service was superb. Everyone was extremely gracious and giving. The staff was friendly and we will definitely be going back one day.

My hair, one week later, still smells like our hotel room. Im okay with that.

We are back, and settling into our lives as a married couple. Making sure that we are always gracious and thankful for the love we are surrounded with and the people in our lives. God has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams and we are trying to find ways to give back.

Until then, you will find me here.

My name is Jenna Robertson, I'm a wife, i battle daily with strengthening my relationship with God, i love music, i love sweets and i have a SEXY husband.
