Wedding & forever after.

The Handsome Groom and my old friend, Michael

The BEAUTIFUL bride Victoria!

Last night i attended the wedding of Michael Searcy & Victoria Waugh. The most amazing couple i have ever had the privilege of knowing. I grew up with Michael so he is like a brother to me and i met his bride Victoria through him. I am so thankful for that because she is amazing! She taught me how to knit. awesome. They are just a a perfect match and i couldn't be more happy for them! Victoria brought Michael to Christ, she saved his life. gives me chills just thinking about it.

I wish them all the blessings in the world & i know they are having a great time on their honeymoon watching the RANGERS GAME BABY!
And how stinking cute is the grooms cake?
Roll Tide.

The brides cake. So elegant.

So for Michael and Victoria, i wish you well! See you soon my dear sweet friends.

Aint God good? All the time.

Lately a lot of stuff has been going on with me. I am now employed! YAY! I had been praying and praying and praying for a job in Houston & the Lord blessed me with an amazing opportunity to work the business end of AT&T. Ill be marketing and advertising the Uverse package. It's pretty awesome. Plus i get to work with my best friend and roommate, Cherry. I know God always has a plan & i am putting my full faith in him.

Lately I've sort of been down. I was in a funk, i like to call it. I hadn't found a job, trying to look for an apartment, having to pack up our town home that we are in now, and everyone around me seemed to be moving forward with their life and i was just, stuck. Don't you hate running into old boyfriends and they are moved on and in an amazing relationship doing great things with their lives, while you on the other hand are single, still. Its hard to be happy for them but I know that God has me exactly where he wants me to be. Its little things like that that keep my eyes open to Gods plan and to try and not get discouraged.

My week this week has consisted of taking care of my mother. She got her poor wisdom teeth out on Tuesday and has been miserable this whole week. She keeps trying to cook and clean and its understandable because she loves doing all those things for us. Its a battle to keep her in bed to rest! I had my wisdom teeth out a few years ago so i know her pain and we are all trying to make her feel as comfortable as possible. All her friends have been coming by and its so sweet. They just curl up in bed with her and talk about Jesus and whats going on in everyones lives. She's the type of woman who, even tho she is in pain, she stills wants to try and help others as much as possible. Its amazing.

She would kill me if she knew i put these pictures up but i just had to! Look at my dad, he ADORES my mother yet loves to goof around! He's precious. So glad that God has blessed me with such an amazing set of parents. They make my world.

Reasoning that my mom got her wisdom teeth removed is because she has been having horrible headaches lately. They said that her roots were all tangled up in her teeth and were so far up into her head that they had to take them out. Praying that that is the reasoning behind the headaches!

Cheers

Lately

Fathers Day went amazing. I got to hang out with my family and see some cousins i only see when they are in town. One plays for UNT football and the other works at a bar. One works at a golf/paintball course and the other is a Supervisor for the city.

We all met up at a rehab/retirement home Sunday after church. My aunt, who is in a wheelchair, and my grandfather, who broke his leg recently live out there. We ate pizza in the library & laughed & cried. My grandfather is the sweetest man i will ever know. His belief in God is majestical. My grandmother adores him. They saved each other. They still kiss each other goodnight. When my grandmother gave him his fathers day gift, which was a watch, he started crying. It broke my heart. I don't ever want to lose that man. They love Jesus. I mean, LOVE him. They have mission tripped to Russia ever since they were in their 20s. God has truly blessed them and in return blessed all of us as well.

There are 7 boy cousins and then me. Im the only girl on the Parker side. You can only imagine what holidays are like. I love them all the same. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Every single day I pray to God and tell him how thankful I am for giving me such a Godly family. It is a blessing..

Still on the MAJOR job search but i just landed a Babysitting job for this sweet sweet sweet couple. I start Wednesday. Yayyy.

I know that God has a bigger plan for me. Im just waiting, always waiting for him to carry it out. I have all the faith in the world that he has me in the palms of his hand. Its so comforting knowing that he is on my side and loves me no matter what.

My sweet grandfather.

My Quotes

In Highschool i was really big on writing quotes down or writing down sonnets from plays. [nerd i know] I am at my parents house and am cleaning out my room and found some quotes that i had printed out and i want to share them with you guys!

"You see" he says to the girl. "You closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too, even when you're in the dark. Even when you're falling." Mitch Albom

In a universe of ambiguity, the kind of certain comes only once, and never again, no matter how many lifetimes you live.  Robert James Waller

When you love someone, you give them part of your heart, and at that moment, your heart is broken. It is ironic that you can't feel the pain until they give you back that piece of your heart and you try to put it back together again.

The more sensitive you are, the more likely you are to be brutalized, develop scabs, never evolve. Never allow yourself to feel anything, because you always feel too much. Marlon Brando

I want you to remember this. That love, true love, never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if its true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.

When someone you've promised to cherish till death do you part says "I never loved you" it should kill you instantly. You shouldn't have to wake up day after day after that, trying to understand how in the world you didn't know. The light just never went on, you know. I must have known, of course, but i was too scared to see the truth. Then fear just makes you so stupid.

I opened myself to you only to be skinned alive. The more vulnerable i became, the faster and more deft your knife. Knowing what was happening, still i stayed and let you carve more. Thats how much i loved you. Thats how much.

There are mysteries about our love. Things that neither one of us may ever understand because love is an emotion without limit and understanding. We know we love each other but we could never explain completely as WHY we love each other. Love is not a clock. You simply cannot take it apart just to see what makes it tick, and even if you could, you probably could never get it back together again.

Chad Michael Murray

AHHH!

I can't believe i haven't written about this sooner.

Chad played in movies such as Cinderella Story, Freaky Friday, House of Wax.
Tv shows: Gilmore Girls and most importantly ONE TREE HILL.
Ive watched OTH since the beginning, when i was in 7th grade. The show really did grow up with me. Whenever i was going through something, a character on the show would be going through the same thing.
Long story short, Chad was beautiful in this show. He grasped his character so well and brought it to life.

So, in December of 2011, I FINALLY talked my parents into letting me fly to Buffalo while we were already in New York City to attend one of Chads book signing. He recently wrote a graphic novel called Everlast. Its a post-apocolyptic tale focusing on the character Derek Everlast. He is sent out to save the lucky few who will continue on to Haven after the world ends.
Chad and I had been communicating via Twitter for MONTHS! He would message me about when i was coming, we would talk about random things, mostly his book and our love for OTH. Most of my friends didn't believe that i was actually talking to Chad Murray!

Chad had a book signing in Buffalo on December 28th. My family and i spent our Christmas as always in Texas. The day after Christmas my entire family hopped on a plane and flew to NYC! For two days we traveled the city, saw the sights and had a magical time.
On December 28th, my brother & I flew to Buffalo, NY for his book signing to stand in line at Barnes & Noble for 2 hours to wait to get a chance to meet and get Chads autograph.

After two LONG hours of waiting, it was finally my turn to meet him. I was so nervous. His manager came up to me, asked me my name, then stopped right when i told her who i was. She got a HUGE smile on her face and said you are Jenna from Texas? My heart skipped a beat. She said, "Chad has been waiting on you to get here!" She rushed me over to him. He looked at me and said, "you must be Jenna"

It wasn't a question. It was a statement. It was one of the best moments of my life! He asked me how i traveled from Texas to Buffalo, we talked about Texas, my friends, OTH, the book, his life. It was amazing. Now usually each person was only allowed about 45 seconds with him. But i got 10 minutes! He met my brother, as he was there filming/taking pictures. I even was given a t-shirt for coming all that way to meet him. It was amazing.
Here are a few pictures from the event. If you get the chance, pick up his book, read about him. He truly is an amazing soul.

Cheers,

Movies, Movies, Movies

I promise this will be my last blog for the night. My roommates and I are on a movie kick and now we are watching Sleepless in Seattle. Probably my all time FAVORITE classic movie. It is so romantic and heart warming, they just don't make movies like this anymore.
My favorite quote when asked how he is going to manage without his wife anymore.

"Well, I'm going to get out of bed in the morning, and breath in and out, all day long. Then after a while i won't have to remind myself to get up in the morning and keep breathing in an out"

So heartbreaking honest. There are some movies that really just touch your soul. Not the sappy, cry your eyes out because it is a tender love story kind of movie. Its the kind where, after the credits role, you seriously evaluate your life..it makes a difference.
& here are a few of my favorites. I'm sure ill leave some out on accident. In no particular order-

Sleepless in Seattle
Blow
The Perfect Storm
Bridges of Madison County
The Green Mile
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Castaway
Public Enemy
Gladiator
The Grey
Seven Pounds
Edward Scissorhands
Any Given Sunday
Passion of the Christ
The Notebook (only because i love the use of poetry in it)

                                                    my movie blanket :)

Swim in the beach

Ladies and Gentleman. Get outside. Soak up some vitamin D. Grab some friends and head to the beach or even a local pool. There is something so magical about watching the tide roll in, it is hard to describe in words. Pictures below are a small sample of how I've spend my summer so far. Friends, beach, life.

Silly me was so sunburned i had to put up a sun reflector in the car to keep out the sun. WEAR SUNSCREEN ALWAYS!
